A Local Favorite: Fox in the Snow Cafe

With new coffee shops popping up just about everyday, it can be hard to really make an impression, especially in a smaller city like Columbus. I mean, how many coffee shops does this town really need? But one I’m definitely not giving up is Fox in the Snow Café. Abandoned garage turned chic coffee shop, Fox in the Snow Café boasts artisan coffee options paired with handmade baked goods. Oh, and this egg sandwich.

Fox in snow egg sandwich

I know what you’re thinking. That’s way more sandwich than anyone needs. But trust me, once you try it, you’ll actually want two. Crusty yet soft bread sandwiches fluffy eggs, peppery arugula, thick slices of bacon, and  some sort of sweet, creamy, tangy mustard sauce that I want to start putting on everything. Seriously, typing this post is making me want to run out and get another one of these sandwiches right now.

But if an egg sandwich isn’t really your thing, Fox in the Snow has plenty of delicious pastry options for you. From homemade blueberry poptarts to authentic, flaky scones, you’re bound to find something to suit your palate.

As for coffee, I kept it simple with a latte on this trip, but I’ll definitely have to venture back to try the Affogato (a latte with a scoop of ice cream. yes, seriously). If it’s anything like the latte I chose this morning, it must be amazing. Tandem Coffee Roasters espresso is layered delicately with steamed milk and the perfect amount of foam. And check out that latte art.

If you’re looking for an artisan coffee and pastry option in Columbus, Fox in the Snow Café is pretty hard to beat. Stop by on a warm day and enjoy the sunshine from an opened garage door. And do your taste buds a favor. Get the egg sandwich. Your only regret will be that you will now be horribly addicted.
